Ultimate PC Engine CD Flascart/ODE (?)

Posted by Arturo Cevallos Soto on Jan 24th 2023

I got this product with the intention of playing PC Engine CD games on the actual console. I can confirm it does that very well ... for a hefty price.

TerraOnion is infamous for their expensive solutions, but there`s no false advertising: their products do what they say they do. And most of the time they are the only people providing these solutions.

    Super HD System Pro

Posted by Michael Medina on Aug 24th 2022

I love this thing. It's very interesting considering the capabilities. There's only 2 things that bother me about it. The color they chose is not the greatest and the fact that it emulates the Super Grafx. I use it with my Super Grafx which is kind of pointless. I'm probably going to start using it with my pc engine instead. Overall I love it!

    Awesome but...

Posted by Simon Arcand on Jul 7th 2022

With all the possibilities that this device offers, i’d say it’s worth the investment. The PC Engine and Turbografx 16 have a lot of hard to find and extremely expensive games so being able to acces them all with one device is great indeed. Not only there’s that, but also the option of greatly improving the picture quality. Both analog and digital video are supported so you’re covered with CRT and more modern tvs! The only thing I think needs improvement is that the device is not able to properly accommodate the Turbografx 16 console…

    Great addon

If you are interested in a turbografx16 this is definitely a must. You can play cd games and super grafx games all on a base TurboGrafx or PC engine.

    Does everything!

I’m using this on a CoreGrafx and it’s become one of my favorite accessories in my collection. The PCE and SuperGrafx (all 6 games) functionality is perfect. The CD support is really good but finding the right combination of options and System Card can be a little tricky now and again. The video options are really good and the HDMI output is fantastic.
The NES FPGA core is as ridiculous and unnecessary as it fun. Why this is a thing i’ll never know but it works great and is a cool novelty.
The cover art view is really cool and looks like something from the era of the system. Be prepared to spend some time renaming files if you want your whole library to have covers, it will find most of them, though.

When you factor in the price of a super grafx, a TurboCD, a flash cart, and an RGB mod the $300+ price point on this thing is super appealing. Everything it does, it does really well. I’d love to see a firmware that made pairing / recommending a SystemCard with a CD image easier.

It also looks really awesome. People grumble about it not matching the system’s white, gray, or black plastic but i think the bright blue looks amazing. And MAJOR kudos to TE for having this powered from the console and it having another power cable in the mix.

    Great product

Works great and totally worth the money. I used it on my north American model. I would recommend that if people do this they take apart the super hd system 3 and reassemble it after the board is fully connected.

    All in one ODE

Posted by AJ on Feb 19th 2022

If you have a PCEngine or one of the many different models, this is an all in one solution that let's you play every possible game. The CD games run extremely well, which is fantastic because a majority of the software really worth diving into on the PCEngine is CD based. Two of the big selling points are the Super Grafx games and the HDMI out. If you run a modern set up with an HD tv, then the output is super crisp and looks amazing, especially with the sharp filter. It has the ability to RGB out as well if you use a CRT tv that's compatible. Either way it's a tremendous improvement over the built in composite video. The Super Grafx compatibility is a nice addition, but there are literally less than 10 games that were made for it. It's nice, but you're honestly not missing much without it. That being said, it really is the ultimate addon to the PCEngine and totally worth it if you're interested in experiencing the best the library has to offer.

    Fantastic

The Super HD System Pro is an amazing accessory for my TurboGrafx 16. The games load fast and I have yet to run across any problems. This has been the best purchase I have made for My Turbo.
