Famicom RGB Blaster with Deluxe Case - KRIKzz

This version from Stone Age Gamer comes with choice of Humble Bazooka 3D printed shell and a protective storage case.

Limitations:
RGB Blaster is not fully compatible with all Famicoms and this problem may stay unresolved.
So far we know that device doesn't work well with consoles based on PPU RP2C02B and RP2C02D-0, supposedly the same situation with all older PPU revisions prior RP2C02D.
So might be good to check yours console before ordering.

RGB Blaster works only in pair with original NTSC PPU, any clones or modded systems will not work, unless it has very accurate PPU, clocked at stock NTSC frequency.

There is no composite video output, only RGB. Make sure your TV supports RGB via SCART input.

With regular carts sometimes you have to press reset after power on. Using a flashcart eliminates this problem.
It happens because some games begins writes to PPU instantly after power on, while RGB Blaster hardware need few more ms to wake up and be ready to work.

    This item is awesome and saved me the hassle of modding my NES. Yes, it only works for Famicom, but with a N8 Pro Everdrive or a 72to60 pin adapter, you can still play those NES games on the Famicom. The Famicom is arguably the better system anyway, with improved sound and Disk system support. The picture you’ll get out of this is also much more likely to be cleaner than a rgb mod, because you’re bypassing any chance for noise you might still get otherwise. Original Famicom owners outside of Japan will no longer need to find a way to use Channel 99 on their tv’s as model only supports RF. I’m using this on two different Famicoms, an AV Fami and a Sharp Twin Fami, AN-505 model. My PPU on that model is RP2C02G-0. RGB signal is routed to an OSSC. I’m using a Genesis 2 rgb cable from Retro Gaming Cables. I’m trying to avoid modding as much as possible, and this solves this for the NES/Famicom. Most other systems already support it or have component support. I’m hoping Krikzz will make a solution for the N64 next. So are there any downsides to this? Yes, I’ve had one issue, and that is support on my 5-6 year old Vizio 4K tv. I know my cables and games are good, as well as my ossc. When using the rgb blaster, my picture will cut out often and for several seconds, but sound remains and never misses a beat. This happened with both systems I own. I tried it again on a 1080p TV and it worked fine on both systems. Issue could be the TV, or an OSSC setting, but that will involve more tinkering. I have to say that I’m extremely pleased with this, I might just get another unit if krikzz ever implements an Everdrive inside of it. Pick one up and enjoy that perfect picture.

    The best thing is I didn’t do mod for my Famicom to get a clean picture, but this project save my console and it’s the best .

    I’m really happy with the RGB Blaster as someone who has already failed a NES RGB mod. I use it with my AV Famicom with HD Retrovision cables and it looks amazing on my Philips crt. Be careful if you want to use the HD Retrovision cables as there may be problems with them check Retro RGBs channel for more info. Mine seem to work just fine though. I happily recommend this to anyone who is too intimidated to try a NES RGB mod or has failed one in the past.
