A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android

About the game

THIS GAME IS UNDER ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT. EXPECT A REVAMPED EXPERIENCE VERY SOON!

This is a 8-bit demake of https://montyontherun.itch.io/sub-mare-imperium-derelict-32-bit for the SEGA Master System and MSX line of computers. I use the exact game core from the 16 and 32-bits versions, but the renderer originally written for the CPC Dev Contest'19. This is actually the project I originally intended to submit for that contest.

Sega Master System

Controls:

  • Directions - Walk around (turns only in 90-degrees)
  • Fire 1 - Perform action
  • Fire 2 - Cycle though the actions to perform

It should be noted that I'm using the legacy video modes from the SG-1000, just like F-16 Fighter; and just like that game, this will not be compatible with Mega Drive/Genesis consoles. This was also forked into a 16-bit version (this fork supports the Mega Drive), featuring more effects: https://montyontherun.itch.io/sub-mare-imperium-derelict-16-bits

MSX line of computers

Controls:

  • Cursor keys - Walk around (turns only in 90-degrees)
  • Fire 1 - Perform action
  • Fire 2 - Cycle though the actions to perform

This game was written with a big help from https://z88dk.org/ with extensive use of https://github.com/jannone/msx-gfxlib, from Rafael Jannone, which I had the pleasure to work with on a previous day job.

The CPC version is back from the dead, fully functional and shaping up greatly. I feel this could be become a really good version!

UI improved!

Thats amazing, how do you create all these versions

I have a common core among the games and different, but slightly intercompatible game engines, all written in C90.

You can check the code here: https://github.com/TheFakeMontyOnTheRun/space-trashman-blues

That's an amazing work for game engine users like me. Congratulations!

And the MSX version is finally working in a more or less stable way!!

Adding more features and fixes on the ROM is getting harder and harder!

This is a nice surprise!

...and yet, I shouldn't be surprised...
