Arrow Super Metal Hero

This game was started by another coder. The first version seemed much better.
Here is some footage from the new one:

Some footage from the first version here.

Great multi parallax scrolling! Is this going to be released through Doublesided games?

I disagree Tarr, i think the new version looks better from both videos, apart from being a different game style, this looks to have more depth and the graphics are much improved, the parallax is superb!

Lets hope it doesn’t require an ‘030 like the first version was heading towards.

The first version was scheduled for 030 with the goal of adding a lot more. But all the videos shown were made on a 020 basic version.

Both versions look similar to me. The main difference seems to be the background layer is now much more advanced with all kinds of line scrolling, etc added.

The parallax effects look awesome by the way

Looks great, but anything more than 020 and fastmem seems a bit overkill to me, unless there are effects going on that are not shown in the video?

IMHO the older version seemed faster, more "arcade" and with more moving objects, with a fast-paced neo geo style gameplay.

The new one, parallax apart, tastes of Amos, with not much happening on screen.

Damn, I went through the whole discussion there (google translated) and I am confused as a pelican. So what I understand: there were three versions of the game: First (preliminary one) with a graphics made by gibs. Second where TenShu was called as an artist and Third, current one. There were some serious problems in the team and TenShu (artist for the from the second version) doesn't collaborate with gibs (coder of the first and second version) anymore. The graphics of the newest third version is done by gibs again In between there was some other coder, who also had some arguments with gibs. As a result, the original Super Metal Hero code is not a part of Super Metal Hero and will be converted into a new game, called Miky's Island, done by gibs. But there is already a game by gibs called Miky's Island. And now please, try to explain to me:

Is the Super Metal Hero still in progress, or not?
If yes - who does the graphics and who does the code?
Is the Super Metal Hero going to be released through Double Sided Games?
Is the Miky's Island really a separate game, built upon the once SMH code?
So maybe Miky's Island 2?

There are now two games:
Super Metal Hero with Tenshu as a graphic designer
And Miky’s Land, with Gibs as encoder (resumption of the initial project with new graphics)

I hope we can see both games on our amigas

Poor gibs?!?

I will encourage you to try working with him see how long you can do it...
i ve work like 3 month with him and he got into 3 or 4 arguments with people on the teams
He a a good programmer but not good enough for me to endure the constant negativity and drama...I want to work in a cool friendly atmosphere is that bad?

Did we stole his game as he bitch on the internet ???no i ve stopped working with him. He took his code and me my graphics...didn’t try to prevent him to do his game, said he could keep and re-use the all code he worked on... he try to prevent us from using my asset and menaced to bring us to court...

If you take a look at my YouTube channel you can find video of my platform game dating of 2018... way before i meet gibs. Way before he showed mikly world

Furthermore i have a screenshot of a slack discussion where gibs clearly states :super metal hero is my ideas, my games...

Third i have an email of gibs where he explain to me that we didn’t “fired” him from the project because he decided to left the project before we decided to “dump” him.

So yeah i ask you how did we him screwed over?

I am really glad I can do all of my shit myself.

Working with other people in Amiga land brings so much trouble normally..
There are a few notable exceptions, though, and I am glad about those.

@10shu; yes I've heard Gibs can be a nightmare to work with. He was banned from EAB many years ago, not by me I might add, but I'm sure there was good reason.

I didn't say you screwed him over; and from reading his comments on AmigaFrance, he didn't say a bad word about you.

It seems he was more talking about Double Sided Games in general.

...but yup, it's just his side of the story on AmigaFrance so.
