This is my submission of Redshift, the remake of Galaxian III.
About Galaxian III
This game is listed as M.I.A. / unreleased in WoS and Spectrum Computing. Coded by me in 1992, unveiled in 2012. It has no relationship with the arcade from Namco.
Galaxian III was part of a saga started in 1990 (you can see some screenshots in www.worldxxisoft.com/history.html). The first two parts were BASIC games, somewhat similar to After Burner but in space. GIII, instead, was a vertically scrolling shooter.
Its development started as a BASIC program, commanding a sprites management routine taken from a magazine (Microhobby Especial 6, "Control de Sprites" by Pablo Ariza). The routine was very powerful, it included collisions detection, but I soon realised the BASIC was too slow to deal with the consequences of the collisions, forcing me to learn Assembler by gathering scattered info from the magazines (and guessing the rest). So, I developed m/c routines to handle the actions, and I also included some coloured graphics routines, making possible later games like Carlos Michelis and Thieves School.
"Galaxian III" was completed in December 1992, and it was an inflection point for World XXI Soft. As a game, it was decent, although its platforms pseudo-scrolling over the generic sprites routine made it rather slow, and the gameplay was unpolished and repetitive.

About Redshift
It adds a lot of features I would have liked to include in GIII, while remaining true to some characteristics of the original, like the use of bright colours, platforms, planets (green saturn taken from Galaxian I 1990), launch scene, boss chase, etc. The ship was redesigned, but the old ones got their corresponding cameos.
This is the presentation:
It's Earth year 2992. Humankind is part of one of two factions battling for the control of the multiverse.
After a long time of stalemate, the enemy faction, led by the prince Kalkux, developed faster and more powerful spaceships, achieving important victories.
The human race started to lose faith in survival. Ships with artificial intelligence were not clever enough to handle new enemy ships. Remote controlling via quantum entanglement was not reliable in other universes.
On the brink of despair, humans developed a new and faster ship, the "REDSHIFT" class, with a key innovation: a human pilot would be physically present in the ship.
Your mission is to take control of Redshift to expel the enemy from key galaxies and universes.
