Talk about C64 games. Not for emulation related problems.

Icecream... Calling All Seasoned Speedball 2 Veterans

Post by mrr19121970 »

Ste'86 and Excess are working on Speedball 2 Ultimate.

We need seasoned veterans to playtest the game (1p, 2p, knockout, league & cup).

Ideally you have a PAL/NTSC C64 & EasyFlash hardware, but VICE is ok too.

Please post here in this thread telling us why you are the Speedball 2 king, and we will get in touch.

I'm not sure if I'd be a great tester or if I'm even remotely good at playing it, but Ultimate Speedball II with STE's graphics?
FOK YEAH!!

Love this game, but don't think I have time to help

I'll be happy to playtest SB2U in VICE (don't have a real C64 anymore). I'll be able to test 1 player-games only

Played lots of 2-player games with my best friend back in the day, but of course I played alone much, if not most, of the time even then

Back in the day, i used to be play the first one with a friend and vs each other.

I haven't played it in awhile, but if you get desperate, i might be able to assist with testing (Vice and C64C)

Speedball series are renown part of the CBM 8/16 bit history!

I am interested in "ultimateness" of this version. What is improved in C64's version of Speedball 2?

I've never played the C64 version, but in 2009 I became the inofficial German champion of Speedball 2 on the Amiga, despite not even being a German citizen! Just like others, I'm unsure how much time or motivation I would have to play test but I'll let you decide which ones to go ahead with.

maybe I will have a go myself ??

....also looking for some save games on. d64 format. with the save game manager we can pull them into the CRT and explore screens (and players) that are not available at the start of the game.

I dont know how you do it, but its a joy to see your artwork. I want to run this game on my crt monitor to see it the way it meant to be seen. With scanlines and colour it will look really nice. Don't know if i have time to test it, but would love to try it.

I 've seen those pics before, and they are awesome! :D

(these are regular multicolor, how about FLI processing?)

I asked about other enhancements of this game, considering gameplay screen, and various other tweaks and add-ons. I have no clue how far you guys went in reverse engineering this C64's game piece.

It was single load game (cool thing packed in C64's ram), and I have no idea how much space is there to support enhancements?

However, it may go multiload, and I would like seeing various mods. Especially some graphics/sound tweaks for gameplay sections, if possible!

I think Speedball 1/2 are very special games from good old times, and also special for C64, and they should receive special treatment from the community!

(I also think Rollerball (1975) movie is one of the best existentialist films ever produced 8)).
